We are so lucky to live, work, and play in San Diego. Not only is it a beautiful place to live, but we don’t have to deal with yucky weather (for the most part). Even though our climate and surroundings lack the snow scene on a Christmas card, there are still some amazing San Diego locations to see the holiday lights.
At Import Auto Specialists, we love celebrating the holidays. One of our favorite holiday activities is to hop in the car with the family and go see the Christmas lights. Here are our top five places to visit around San Diego:
Starlight Circle is located in Santee, and it’s awesome! You’ll see a massive lights display coming from several homes located on East and West Glendon circles off Magnolia Avenue. The lights are usually on from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly. If you’re lucky and extra nice, the kind residents may share some of their Christmas treats with you and your family. Be sure to say “thank you” to these kind residents of Starlight Circle.
Another one of our favorites is Christmas on Knob Hill in San Marcos. Located at 1639 Knob Hill Rd., this place is so popular that even Santa Claus stops to pay a visit. Delighting families since 1988, this family puts their all into their holiday display with over 85,000 lights. If you enjoy your visit, you may want to pay it forward and offer to pay a portion of their light bill. Just sayin’...
Every December, we love to see the Belardo Lights in Tierrasanta. The address is 5306 Belardo Dr., between Camino Playa Catalina and Callejon Quintana. They have a wonderful light show from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly, synchronized to festive music played on 106.1FM. This holiday light display is a can’t miss!
If you want a block-party type of holiday display, you’ve got to check out Fairway Village in Carmel Mountain Ranch. On the Saturday evening before Christmas, this neighborhood typically holds a block party featuring hot chocolate, cider, music, lights, cookies, snacks and more. This year, that block party is planned for Dec. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Locals say Santa stops here for a quick visit, too!
Last, but certainly not least, there’s Christmas Circle in Chula Vista. It has been a tradition for many years to visit this spot on Whitney and Manakato Streets, between First and Second Avenues and south of H Street. This welcoming neighborhood sparkles nightly from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
If you decide to visit our favorite holiday displays around San Diego, that’s fantastic. We encourage you to drive safely and be extra cautious around pedestrians and other vehicles as you visit these neighborhoods.
If your vehicle could use some preventive maintenance before you begin your holiday trek to Grandma’s house, Import Auto Specialists would be most happy to service your vehicle. We are offering $50 off for new customers, as well as a $50 brake special. Call us or schedule an appointment today so we can take great care of you and your vehicle. Happy holidays!
